BOCA RATON, Fla. (Sept. 29, 2026) — TMGOC Ventures, a vertically integrated private real estate investment firm specializing in hospitality, today announced it has rebranded as Montford Group, reflecting the continued evolution of the firm and its investment platform.
While the transition represents a change in name and identity, the fundamentals of the business remain unchanged. Montford Group maintains the same ownership, leadership team, investment philosophy, portfolio and commitment to its partners.
Today, the firm represents approximately $1.5 billion in existing investments and development pipeline, encompassing more than 4,233 hotel keys across the United States. Montford invests across select-service, lifestyle and luxury hospitality, with capabilities spanning acquisitions, development, asset management, capital formation and structured investments.
“Montford Group represents the evolution of our firm, not a change in its foundation,” said Sunju Patel, co-founder and managing partner of Montford Group. “We have built this platform by combining an entrepreneurial approach to identifying opportunities with institutional discipline in how we invest, capitalize and execute.”
The rebrand follows a period of significant investment activity, including the Fairmont and Element by Westin conversion in downtown New Orleans, The Ritz-Carlton hotel and residences in Savannah, Georgia, and the Bethesda North Marriott Hotel in Maryland. Across its portfolio, Montford Group works with leading global hospitality companies and brands, including Marriott International, The Ritz-Carlton, Autograph Collection, Moxy by Marriott, Hilton, Hyatt and Accor’s Fairmont.
The Montford name holds personal significance for Patel and reflects the firm’s roots in Charleston, South Carolina, where he began building his real estate platform. Patel later partnered with Glenn Alba, who spent approximately two decades at Blackstone Real Estate, most recently as managing director, participating in more than $10 billion of hospitality transactions and asset management.
The two first partnered on the development of Moxy Charleston Downtown before combining their respective platforms in 2022 to form TMGOC Ventures. Patel’s entrepreneurial real estate and development experience and Alba’s institutional investment and asset management experience complement each other and continue to define the firm’s approach today – an entrepreneurial spirit with an institutional mindset.
Under the Montford Group name, the firm will continue pursuing hospitality investments across acquisitions, value-add repositionings, adaptive reuse, ground-up development and select structured capital opportunities.
