Jessica is the Chief Operations Officer and Broker-in-Charge for The Montford Group., where she leads the team’s strategic direction with regard to hospitality, retail brand, and real estate partnership opportunities.
Jessica’s hospitality career began in 2004 when she worked for her family’s business, the then-Holiday Inn on Folly Beach – now known as Tides. For five years, she worked through the hotel’s ranks, learning the ins and outs of each of its various departments, and developing a passion for the hotel business and hospitality industry at-large.
She then leveraged this experience to transition into real estate, and spent four years working as Commercial Real Estate and Business Broker for Trademark Properties Real Estate Services, where she focused primarily on restaurants and retail. Following her time at Trademark, Jessica launched J. Reid & Associates, where she served as Founder and CEO.
Jessica’s years of hospitality and real estate experience, coupled with her entrepreneurial spirit, inspired her to launch the Charleston Neighborhood Guide in 2016, which utilized an innovative marketing strategy to promote local neighborhoods to brands. Born from the understanding that success in real estate is not defined by simply filling an empty space, the Guide set Jessica down a path toward her current – and most-loved – focus area: working to ensure that TMGOC brands are matched with the appropriate market and business strategy, and therefore best positioned to achieve long-term success.
Jessica earned her BS in Hospitality and Tourism Management at the College of Charleston. She is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers, Charleston Realtors, and the Boutique Lifestyle and Lodging Association. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, spending time with family, and, of course, touring new hotels.
